Despite being released in 1988, this album still sounds as innovative and inspirational as ever. Plus Bill added two 18+ min epic ambient excursions to this digital release in the form of Lost Roads Orchestral Site and Kingdom Come Ambient Site. This release should be a cornerstone of your Bill Laswell collection.

When you consider how many decades these three masters have been making music together (4 and counting?)I guess what you end up listening to (from release to release) is an interrupted ongoing conversation...the type that any three old friends might engage in...no need to set a context (it already exists),no need for pleasantries or platitudes (they already know each other's foibles by heart)...a sort of personal 'shorthand' that dispenses with formal introduction...they just get on with essential communication;they take risks that only old friends might take (ignoring anything offensive...that 'preciousness' was all dealt with decades ago) and they tell each other only the musical truth...such musical relationships can sometimes make the listener feel like a voyeur...I just hope they don't mind me overhearing their conversation...a silent witness to that truth.
